Basic solution for MFI testing with PID control, manual cutoff, and manual calculation of results
The MFI10 is the entry-level Melt Flow Indexer in the Artemis range, designed for laboratories that perform melt flow tests on an occasional basis and do not require advanced automation.
Temperature control is handled by a 1/16 DIN PID controller with a PT100 thermometer, offering an accuracy of ±0.1 °C over a range from room temperature up to 450 °C.
The extruded sample is cut manually using the supplied knife, at intervals monitored by the built-in electronic timer. The MFI result is calculated manually by weighing the collected samples.
The instrument is supplied with a complete starter kit (standard piston, nozzle, 2.16 kg load, cotton cloth, and a metal-bristle brush for cleaning, go/no-go gauge to verify nozzle dimensions, graduated filling cylinder) and a traceable calibration certificate.
Available options: pneumatic weight loader and Hastelloy barrel/plunger/die for corrosive materials such as PVC.
The system complies with ASTM D1238, ISO 1133, ASTM D3364, and DIN 53735.
