Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance Tester

System for evaluating the susceptibility of ethylene-based plastics to environmental stress cracking

The ESCR tester is a device for determining the environmental stress cracking resistance (ESCR) of ethylene-based plastics, designed in accordance with ASTM D1693.

The AISI 316 stainless steel bath is controlled by a 1/16 DIN PID controller with a PT100 thermometer, which maintains typical test temperatures (50 °C or 100 °C) with an accuracy of ±0.5 °C.
A stirrer ensures thermal uniformity; an integrated electronic timer and a safety thermostat with emergency stop complete the setup.
The internal stainless steel rack holds 46 borosilicate test tubes with rubber stoppers and brass sample holders that maintain constant stress on the central section of the specimen, accommodating up to 10 specimens each.

Supplied complete with the sample preparation kit: 38×13 mm cutting die, scoring template, bending clamp, and sample transfer tool.

Optional accessories: additional 316 stainless steel sample holders, manual or pneumatic die cutter, scoring blades.
